The ISGB has a long history of fostering and nurturing the generous community of glass artists and bead makers. We have all found a home in the ISGB to explore and evolve our art, share and learn from one another, and support one another in this journey. To sustain this organization, it is important that we encourage and support new and emerging artists. At the 2023 annual meeting I had the opportunity to meet several of our new and emerging ISGB glass bead artists. After discussions with them about their journey to glass art, I was deeply motivated to find a way to engage and encourage other emerging artists through the ISGB. The ISGB has many talented teachers that give generously of their skill and talent. Whether through classes at annual meetings, at national or international studios, or museums and schools, the costs of these classes may be a barrier for new and emerging bead artists to learn and develop their skills. Therefore, this Emerging Artist Scholarship was established to nurture new and emerging bead artists by providing funds for training or classes that support their ongoing exploration of their art.    Donor Elizabeth Blood 2024
